Throughout the film, we follow the shared journey of entrepreneurs at Gifted, a survivor owned and operated marketplace, launched by FreeFrom. Gifted demonstrates that investing in survivor wealth can break generational cycles of gender-based violence. In its first year, FreeFrom launched entrepreneurship programs in three shelters with 24 survivors. Nine months later, all the ventures were thriving, helping survivors build wealth, safety, and power. As FreeFrom’s community grew, Sonya’s vision expanded, leading to the launch of Gifted.
Since 2016, FreeFrom has been transforming how society addresses gender-based violence—from survivor programs and systems change to policy advocacy and our social enterprise, Gifted. Now, with SURVIVOR MADE, we continue that mission.
